STORYTELLING: DULCOP BUBBLE WORLD

Ever more eco-friendly soap bubbles

Owned by the Melotti family, Dulcop International S.p.A. is the largest manufacturer of soap bubbles and bubble toys (Giocabolle™) in Europe and boasts important signature features, as Allegra Melotti, Marketing Manager (in the pictures, together with her father Andrea, Presdent and siblings Arianna and Alberto) reports: “Fist of all, ‘Made in Italy’ quality with a total traceability system. We use a tested and certified liquid, which is hypoallergenic and safe, Kathon-, gluten-and fragrance-free, and we have obtained the CE-Type certification. 100 per cent in house production speeds up the introduction of products with new graphics and licenses and allows product customization with flexible – for the B2B market – or open – for the B2C market – minimum orders”.

The last few years Dulcop has been investing in processes oriented towards circular economy models. “We select partners and suppliers that can operate according to our environmental and social standards; we have increased our insourcing process by investing in new moulds and presses; we have moved to single-material and single-colour production (white) for all our standard 60ml bottles; we have reduced by 20 per cent the plastic contents in all our bottles’ pressing; we employ at least 30% of recycled plastic for all bottles; we only use FSC certified paper and cardboard; we have received the PRS Green Label for the promotion of the pallet exchange or rental instead of the purchase”, says Melotti. “In 2024, once we have finished moving to a new production unit, we will be able to reach even higher environmental efficiency levels, thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels for independent electricity generation and to other expedients. We intend to improve production efficiency, at the same time reducing energy consumption; we will no longer employ gas to heat and cool the building, and as regards lighting there will be occupancy sensors in order to avoid useless waste of power”.
