Two leading brands in racetracks, RC vehicles and model kits
Carrera Toys GmbH, a leading Austrian company in the games and toys global business through brands like Carrera, Carrera RC and Pustefix, develops, manufactures and markets its lines all over the world, and also offers ever-new concepts linked with winning licences such as Disney and Nintendo.
German company Revell GmbH is a European leader in the production and distribution of plastic model kits, and it also deals with RC toys under its Revell Control brand. Revell’s sales and marketing extend to strategic countries and markets including USA, UK, France, Italy, Spain and BeNeLux.
Both companies belong to Munich-based Quantum Capital Partners.
“From the retailers’ point of view, the Carrera lines’ key strengths consist in quality and breadth of range, features that have driven the brand to the leadership in the racetracks (and relevant accessories) category”, says Stefano Galli, Head of Sales/Italy (picture). “However, in the last few years Carrera has also been growing internationally in the RC business, where the brand now represents a point of reference for licensed items and for top level products, as to performance and functions, quality of the batteries, speed of the toys…”.
According to Galli, “the Christmas season is affected by several hindrances due to the disruption of the supply chain: production delays caused by the scarcity of raw materials and lack of containers for the products’ shipment had a negative impact on their delivery and presentation on the shelves. Notwithstanding such problems, our customers have followed our planning and in general our lines are performing well”.
