An innovative concept in children’s cosmetics
Mondo was born immediately after World War II and began its entrepreneurial journey by manufacturing balls for pallapugno, a local sport practised in Lower Piedmont and Liguria. It was the start of a remarkable industrial development linked with rubber and plastics processing and based on constant growth and differentiation into other businesses than toys, such as civil and sport flooring and equipment.
“As concerns the toys division, the offer is made up of a summer/outdoor catalogue and a Christmas catalogue”, explains Renzo Gentile, Mondo Toys Sales Manager. “As to the outdoor range, the leading categories still are PVC and stitched play balls (licensed or not), beach sets, inflatables and scooters. For Christmas, through the Mondo Motors brand we offer radio-controlled and static toy vehicles”.
Lately, Mondo Toys’ assortment embraced a new product category: “An important introduction at the end of 2021 was the Barbie Role Play and Make-up line”, Gentile says, “At the moment there are five products on the market, but the range will be extended with new additions in the second half of 2022: they will be exhibited at Toys Milano. With this line Mondo incorporates the ethical clean cosmetics philosophy, developed and adopted by leading cosmetics companies to offer products that are 100% safe for children and adults, made using organic materials and ethical processes focused on environmental sustainability. All items are vegan and have been developed with cruelty-free ethics in mind, and therefore do not contain any materials derived from or tested on animals. The packaging is also made in accordance with FSC certifications, which guarantee that the suppliers’ forest management is in accordance with civil, economic and social responsibility criteria”.
